Caring For Living Things

We are starting our new unit of inquiry ‘Caring For Living Things’.

We asked ourselves how the children would define something living, and so introduced them to Ms Josie and Ms Constance, in a non-living form.

Can you tell which one is alive?

The children obviously thought that this was really funny, howe

ver they came up with some insightful comments on why our avatars’ were not real.

“If you’re living you move, you walk, you talk, you breathe". Lara

“You draw, real people they can cook.” Arthur

“She’s not real, there’s nothing. Non c’e la voce” Dylan.

“The real Ms. Josie she was painting the bulletin board outside.” Francesco

And what do real people need?

“A coat.” Raffaella

“To eat, to drink, coca-cola, milk”. Isabella

As we progress with the unit we will be looking at what babies, plants and animals all need. We hope to keep you posted.
